Since it last released, Princess Agents went on to become a major success story, internationally. It is currently the most watched Chinese drama of all time, having earned more than 40 billion views on Chinese streaming sites. The success of Princess Agents was mired by plagiarism allegations. In 2015, the author Xia Xiang Dong’er admitted the allegations of plagiarism from novels such as Hu Zhu Fu Ren by Xiao Ruqin, Jiu Zhou Piao Miao Lu by Jiang Nan and Kun Lun by Feng Ge, in his book. Xia promised to clean the TV version without any plagiarized parts. But TV series did infringe the copyrights of the original authors; it contained several plots from the above-mentioned novels. And that’s exactly what came in the way of Season 2.Princess Agents, unfortunately, doesn’t have a confirmed Season 2. The cast has gone on to do different TV shows since the show last aired. Lin Gengxin wrote a farewell message upon the ending of the show, saying he doesn’t know whether to say see you again or goodbye forever. So it remains to be seen if Season 2 is commissioned at all or not. More as we have it.
