While chasing in the backwoods, Lord Asano of Ako and his samurai locate a youthful mutt and bring him with them to live in the mansion. Quite a while later, Lord Asano holds a competition to welcome the Shogun to Ako. The night after the competition, Lord Asano is beguiled into harming Lord Kira of Nagato, and is rebuffed into conferring seppuku by the Shogun. Understanding that it was a Lord Kira s abhorrent plot, the samurais and the crossbreed sets out for reprisal against the Shogun s request.
